Dan & Dave’s iconic line of playing cards, redesigned by dealersgrip.

“The Last Machine” emerges as an abstract continuation of the Smoke & Mirror series. This blue edition introduces striking visuals and dualistic ideas of man versus machine while accelerating the mechanical aura first established with v5 Denim in 2010.

What happens when the shuffling machine becomes self-aware? Cardistry is likely one of the last skills to be automated due to its hyper-specialized and creative nature. But imagining the alternative — a world in which self-aware shuffling machines overtake our passion — may lead to us better understanding the current state and future potential of our art form. This is a tribute to the shuffling machine.

Printed by the United States Playing Card Co. on our propriety Crushed Stock using vibrant Pantone colors and detailed imagery. Packaged inside a matte blue tuck box enclosure with intricate preview windows and silver foil.

Edition of 2500 split between dealersgrip and Dan and Dave. One thousand two hundred fifty are being offered for sale here.

Harper ★★★★★

The blue back design is a total shift from the original series, and the abstract continuation feels like a fresh chapter rather than a rehash. Handling these straight out of the box, the finish has that perfect snappy feel for faro shuffles. A must for anyone who collects the series.

Nicholas ★★★★★

The card stock feels noticeably premium right out of the box, and the abstract blue back design really pops when you fan them. I've been using them for a few weeks now and the finish is still holding up perfectly for my routines.

Lucy ★★★★★

The blue edition’s abstract continuation of the series is a nice twist—the card back design feels fresh yet familiar, and the handling is buttery smooth right out of the box. If you’re into intricate cardistry, this one’s a keeper.
